Details: Zelenskyy acknowledged that Ukraine is currently experiencing a shortage of interceptors for its air defence systems, but did not provide further details.
Quote: "Now, the big – maybe the biggest – deficit is air defenсe. We've got a big package [of air defence assistance – ed.] from Canada. We are thankful for this."
Details: The president did not specify what equipment Canada has supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but said another delivery from Canada will arrive soon. "Some parts are on the way," Zelenskyy added.
Carney briefly confirmed that the assistance has been sent.
Background: In May, it was reported that Canada was set to contribute an additional US$200 million to the PURL initiative to finance the purchase of US weapons for Ukraine, primarily Patriot interceptors. It is not yet clear whether Zelenskyy is referring to that delivery.
