Buses destroyed and some services cancelled after Russian attack on Odesa

Fifteen buses have been destroyed and two employees injured as a result of a fire at a bus depot caused by a Russian attack on Odesa. The attack has disrupted intercity and international bus services.

Details: Vladyslav Cherkesov, director of the Third Bus Depot, said a large fire broke out on the company's premises following the morning attack.

The fire completely destroyed 15 buses, including vehicles used for intercity and international routes. As a result, some services had to be cancelled.

Two of the company's drivers were injured in the Russian strike. One sustained minor injuries, but the other is in a serious condition and has undergone emergency surgery.

The depot's management said the company suffered significant losses due to the destruction of its fleet, and that this has affected the provision of bus services.

Russia's morning attack on the Odesa district caused widespread damage to civilian infrastructure.

According to the State Emergency Service, six buses were engulfed by fire, while a further 11 buses and six cars were damaged by the blast wave and debris. A sanatorium building was also damaged.

Background: Russia struck a Togo-flagged civilian cargo vessel as it was unloading mineral fertilisers.
