Ukrainian drone sinks Russian border patrol vessel near Novorossiysk

Ukraine's Naval Forces have announced the destruction of the Russian FSB border patrol vessel Izumrud.

Quote: "Ukrainian naval personnel sank a 2nd-rank border patrol vessel using the Sargan-3000 unmanned naval system near Novorossiysk. There are killed and injured among the vessel's crew."

Details: The Naval Forces specified that Izumrud was involved in the attack on Ukrainian Navy vessels in the Kerch Strait on 25 November 2018.

The Naval Forces also noted that Izumrud was launched in 2014. The vessel was equipped with a helicopter deck. Its length is 62.5 metres, displacement approximately 630-750 tonnes, and maximum speed up to 27 knots.

Background: Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces previously reported that on the night of 13-14 July, his units struck 11 more Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov. In total, in innine days the UAS hunted down 116 vessels.
