Russian attack destroys publishers' warehouses in Kyiv and over 250,000 books

Details: A total of 250,000 books were destroyed, though there were no casualties. The publisher warned of possible temporary delays in dispatching orders due to the destruction of its warehouse.

An office belonging to the arc.ua publishing house, founded in 2019 and specialising in publishing popular science literature on medicine, history, sociology and cultural studies for a wide audience, was also damaged.

"Our team is fine, that's what matters most. We'll tidy up a bit, deal with the aftermath of the 'Russian world' and get back to work, because common sense must always prevail," the company said.

Mison Publishing reported on social media that the office where its editorial team worked had been completely destroyed by fire in the attack.

"But today Russia has destroyed all our publishing plans. It struck at the very heart of the publishing house, destroying all the office premises where our team worked and where our ideas and dreams for the future were born. Everything was burned to the ground… But no one was hurt, and that is the most important thing! So there is a chance for revival," the company wrote. The Mison team is currently raising funds to resume operations.

Viktoriia Haidai, commercial director for Konvi, a Kyiv-based printing house and printing company, reported that the printing house had been damaged in the attack along with semi-finished publishing materials, including textbooks for fourth-grade pupils. No employees were injured.
