"I will be with him 100%": New UK PM says he will speak with Zelenskyy

Andy Burnham, who took office as UK prime minister on 20 July, has said he will speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reassure him of London's steadfast and resolute support for Ukraine.

Details: Burnham said Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump will be his first calls on 20 July.

"I'll be making very clear later today to President Zelenskyy that, you know, there is no change. I will be with him 100%, as Keir Starmer has been," Burnham said.

Burnham said he had collaborated with Ukrainian mayors while serving as mayor of Greater Manchester in recent years.

"I take all of that experience into my new role, and President Zelenskyy will be left in no doubt whatsoever that Britain's support is steadfast, it is resolute, it will be there for him and I will be there for him personally too," he added.
