Zelenskyy meets military commanders and discusses possible Russian actions in Chernihiv-Kyiv area

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has continued his meetings with military commanders, with the latest discussions focusing on possible Russian actions along the Chernihiv-Kyiv section of the border.

We discussed the need to strengthen frontline air defence and identified the decisions required to continue the corps reform."

Details: The president said he, together with acting Defence Minister Yevhen Khmara and Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavlo Palisa, is continuing consultations with army corps commanders "on the front's most urgent needs, the defence of border areas, and the commanders' views on the details of Ukraine's defence strategy".

Zelenskyy reported that the latest meeting included the commanders of the 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th and 21st Army Corps, as well as the 30th Marine Corps. They briefed the president on the situation in their respective sectors, Russian military activity and plans and possible countermeasures.

The participants also reviewed the defence of Kherson and the cities and hromadas of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, including Nikopol. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

"The key priorities are countering Russian drones, protecting people, and securing the additional supplies needed," Zelenskyy said.
