Ukrainian air defence downs four Russian missiles and 160 drones, but strikes still recorded

Russia attacked Ukraine with five Kh-59/69 air-launched missiles from the Black Sea and 180 drones on the night of 23-24 July. Ukrainian air defences have downed 164 aerial assets, although strikes have been recorded at nine locations and falling debris caused additional damage.

Details: From 18:00 on 23 July, Russian forces have deployed air-launched missiles, Shahed (some jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas attack drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs. They were launched from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed four Kh-59/69 air-to-surface missiles and 160 drones of various types in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by one air-to-surface missile and 14 UAVs have been recorded at nine locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at eight locations.
