Zelenskyy backs idea of combining new US sanctions against Russia and Iran

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supports the idea of his American counterpart Donald Trump to include provisions on sanctions against Iran in a bill on sanctions against Russia proposed by the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

Details: Zelenskyy noted that the late Senator Lindsey Graham had worked on the new sanctions bill for a long time.

"Lindsey [Graham] was deeply involved in this bill. I think President Trump's idea to combine it with sanctions against Iran – we support this idea. It's a very good idea," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, this could unite different groups in Congress around the bill, as some may support anti-Iran sanctions while others may back anti-Russia measures.
