Rescue operations completed near Kyiv at site of Russian strike that killed 10 people

Rescue workers have completed emergency and rescue operations in the Bucha district, which Russia struck with ballistic missiles on the morning of 24 July.

Quote: "Search and rescue operations have been completed at the scene of the Russian missile strike in the Bucha district. Ten people were killed and dozens injured in the attack.

Firefighters extinguished fires at three houses and eight cars. In addition, 23 houses, two hotels, a restaurant and 34 vehicles were damaged."

Background:

• Russian forces struck Kyiv Oblast with missiles on the afternoon of 24 July. A weapons exhibition was hit in the attack.
• Initial reports indicated six deaths and dozens injured.
• The Prosecutor General's Office later reported that 10 people had been killed and around 100 injured. Two criminal proceedings have been opened over the attack.
• Ukraine's General Staff stressed that the civilian facility struck by the Russians in Kyiv Oblast does not fall under the command of the defence forces, and reminded the public of the need to observe wartime safety measures.
