Quote: "The response must match the scale of the threat. We need a comprehensive deterrence package for Ukraine and Europe: stronger sanctions, maximum pressure on Russia, and a joint effort to shield Europe's skies from Russian terror."

Details: Sybiha condemned the violation of Romanian airspace by a Russian drone, calling it a demonstration of the Kremlin's disregard for international law, state sovereignty and European security.

Quote: "Russia is constantly testing the West's resolve, probing our collective reaction, and preparing the ground for further hybrid aggression. Every weak response only encourages Moscow to raise the stakes."

Background: Romania's Ministry of Defence reported the first instance of an F-16 fighter jet shooting down a drone on 24 July after it had breached Romanian airspace.
