Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met representatives of the defence company Lockheed Martin in the US. The company produces ATACMS, HIMARS, F-16 fighter jets and missiles for Patriot systems.

Quote: "I met with the team of the Lockheed Martin defence company – one of the strongest enterprises in the United States, with which we have been cooperating for a long time. Lockheed Martin is the company that produces ATACMS, HIMARS, F-16s, and missiles for Patriot systems."

Details: Zelenskyy said the meeting focused on "further development of our cooperation – joint production and technology exchange".

Quote: "Ukraine has a lot to share with those who help us protect lives. We spoke about our joint capabilities related to Patriots and other systems. Our teams are already working on specific solutions to move to co-production as quickly as possible and increase our capabilities to protect lives."

Background:

Zelenskyy and Trump's meeting at the White House on 28 July lasted just over an hour.
Zelenskyy has said he has discussed licences for the production of Patriot interceptors and efforts to accelerate the diplomatic process with US President Donald Trump.
