Details: In Lublin, Zelenskyy is set to meet Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"The subject of the talks will be summing up the results of his [Zelenskyy's – ed.] visit to the United States and his meeting with President Donald Trump," the Polish government's press service said.

Background:

  • This will be the Ukrainian president's first visit to Poland since the conflict between Kyiv and Warsaw that erupted over Zelenskyy's decision to grant a Ukrainian military unit the honorary designation "named after the Heroes of the UPA".
  • Because of this decision, he was stripped of Poland's highest award. It was also reported that at the height of the conflict, Zelenskyy's plane stopped flying over Poland.
  • Against this backdrop, incidents of aggression against Ukrainians in Poland have also become more frequent.
