Ukraine's National Olympic Committee has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne against the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to reinstate the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).

Details: The Ukrainian side argues that the IOC's decision "contradicts the provisions of the Olympic Charter" and "fails to take into account the actual circumstances" that led to the decision to suspend the ROC's membership in 2023.
Ukraine's National Olympic Committee also believes that the IOC's decision was made prematurely and without proper verification that the ROC had addressed the violations in question – namely, the inclusion within its structure of sports organisations from Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories.
Background: The IOC lifted the suspension of the ROC on 7 July. Following this, a number of international federations across various sports lifted all sanctions against Russia.
