Reports of smoke over Wildberries logistics centre in Russia's Tatarstan appear after drone attack – video

Residents have reported smoke rising over the Wildberries logistics centre in Zelenodolsk in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan following a suspected drone attack. Regional authorities also declared a threat of a UAV attack and imposed temporary restrictions at three airports. Wildberries is Russia's largest online retailer.

Details: Residents of Kazan and its suburbs reported hearing explosions on the morning of 31 July.

According to Astra, which analysed videos recorded by eyewitnesses, the Wildberries logistics centre in the industrial zone of Zelenodolsk may have been targeted.

Footage posted online appears to show smoke rising above the logistics centre.

Residents of Nizhnekamsk also reported hearing more than 30 explosions. Eyewitnesses shared footage showing a large flare burning at one of the city's oil refineries.

Nizhnekamsk's main oil refining facilities are located within the same industrial zone, including refineries operated by TANEKO and TAIF-NK.

The authorities in Tatarstan had warned of a possible UAV attack on Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Yelabuga, Zainsk, Zelenodolsk, Kazan, Leninogorsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Chistopol the previous day.

Temporary restrictions were also imposed on arrivals and departures at the airports in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Bugulma.
