Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missile and 136 drones overnight, 117 UAVs intercepted

Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 136 attack drones of various types on the night of 3-4 August. Air defences have intercepted 117 drones, although strikes from the missile and 14 UAVs have been recorded at 14 locations.

Details: Russian forces launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Russia's Rostov Oblast and 136 Shahed (some jet-powered), Gerbera and Italmas attack drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs from the Russian cities of Oryol and Millerovo as well as the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk Oblast and Crimea.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 117 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east."

Details: Hits by one ballistic missile and 14 UAVs have been recorded at 14 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at three locations.

The Air Force added that the attack is still ongoing, with Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace, and urged residents to observe safety measures.
