Russians hit fuel trucks and tankers in Chernihiv Oblast

Russian forces have attacked Chernihiv Oblast, damaging logistics facilities among other targets: fuel trucks and tankers for petroleum products caught fire in the Pryluky district.

Details: The Russians struck facilities in Chernihiv Oblast on the evening of 3 August, causing fires.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that two fuel trucks and five tankers used for transporting petroleum products caught fire in the Pryluky district following a strike. Early reports indicate no casualties.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Chernihiv Oblast over the past day using jet-powered drones and Banderol drone-missiles – a hybrid of a cruise missile and a drone. These weapons fly at speeds of up to 650 km/h, making them difficult to shoot down.

Chaus said the main targets were Chernihiv, Pryluky and Novhorod-Siverskyi, particularly logistics companies and critical infrastructure.

Background: In early July, Chaus said that Russian strikes on petrol stations in Chernihiv Oblast have become almost daily, with 25 strikes recorded in June and early July.
