Fire breaks out at Rosneft oil refinery in Komsomolsk-on-Amur – photos
A fire has broken out at Rosneft's oil refinery in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia's Khabarovsk Krai. An oil refinery has also caught fire in Orsk in Orenburg Oblast following reports of a drone attack and explosions.

Details: At around 11:00 local time, residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur began reporting a fire near the local oil refinery.
Astra analysed footage posted by eyewitnesses and established that the fire had broken out at the Komsomolsk Refinery, which is owned by Rosneft.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
TASS, citing the company's press service, also reported a fire at the refinery. The press service said nobody had been injured in the incident.
Update: A drone attack and a fire at a local oil refinery were also reported in Orsk in Orenburg Oblast, around 1,500 km from Ukraine.
According to an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis by Astra, the facility targeted in the attack was the Orsk Oil Refinery, operated by Orsknefteorgsintez PJSC. The attack on the area had previously been confirmed by Orsk Mayor Artyom Vorobyov.
A major fire has broken out at the facility following the explosions. Exilenova+ reported that the refinery is still burning and that further explosions could be heard in the city.
Solntsev said that a Kovyor (Carpet) plan had been introduced in Orsk within a 100-kilometre radius. Temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures have also been introduced at Orsk airport. For reference: The Komsomolsk Refinery is owned by Rosneft and is one of the key suppliers of petroleum products in the Russian Far East. The refinery was commissioned in 1942 and has a design capacity of around 8 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The facility produces petrol, diesel, marine fuel and other petroleum products.
Orsknefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. Its capacity is approximately 6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The plant produces petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, aviation fuel and other petroleum products.
According to ASTRA, the refinery had already been targeted in October and November 2025, as well as in April 2026.
Background: Ukraine's defence forces struck the Taneko oil refinery in Russia's Republic of Tatarstan on the night of 9-10 August, causing a fire to break out at the facility.
