Moscow authorities report 13 drones downed near capital, airports restrict flights

Moscow was targeted by drones on the night of 10-11 August, with Russian authorities claiming that at least 13 drones had been destroyed. Flights at Moscow's airports were temporarily restricted following the attack.

Details: Sobyanin initially claimed that Russian air defences had shot down seven drones heading towards Moscow.

He later reported that another six drones had been destroyed. Emergency services were working at the sites where drone debris had fallen.

Rosaviatsiya imposed restrictions on operations at Moscow's airports in the wake of the attack. Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports were only allowed to accept and dispatch flights with the approval of the relevant authorities due to restrictions on the use of Russian airspace. Rosaviatsiya later announced that the restrictions had been lifted.

Background: Russian authorities reported a drone attack on the morning of 28 July, claiming that dozens of drones had been "heading towards Moscow". A fire broke out at a factory in Moscow Oblast following the attack.
