The World Curling Federation has extended Russia's exclusion from senior competitions until the end of the current calendar year.

Details: The World Curling Board concluded that Russia's return to senior competitions would pose significant risks to the integrity of the events. The decision also took into account the position of the majority of national federations that are members of World Curling.

Background:
- In January 2026, World Curling allowed Russian youth and junior teams to return to international competitions. Meanwhile, the Russian Curling Federation is seeking to challenge its exclusion at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). A decision in the case is expected shortly.
- At the end of July, the Russian Curling Federation lost its status as a full member of World Curling.
