Lavrov says Russia will not stop at current line of contact because… "our grandads fought the Nazis"

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said the Russian regime has no intention of stopping the hostilities in Ukraine at the current line of contact and promised that "harsher methods" of waging war will be used.

Quote: "We will not stoop to their level, but we will make our own methods much harsher in order to destroy everything that feeds Kyiv's war machine from the West. And we are already doing this. They are beginning to groan.

It is no coincidence that an increasing number of voices across our shared public discourse are calling for an immediate halt. That will not work. We should only stop when there is a long-term, reliable and sustainable settlement.

If we were suddenly to stop now at the line of contact, we would essentially be allowing the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defeated Nazism, to be cancelled out. That is impossible to countenance."

Details: Lavrov acknowledged that people in Russia are suffering and "dying from terrorist attacks", but said this is a question of "responsibility for the thousand-year history of the Russian state".
