A Russian attack has caused power outages affecting a significant number of consumers in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Details: Infrastructure facilities are being supplied with power from back-up sources. Power engineers have begun restoring electricity supplies.

Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo, the regional distribution system operator, said that damage to electrical equipment caused by the Russian attack has left a significant number of consumers in Zaporizhzhia without power.

Background: On 18 August, Russia launched a large-scale attack on a thermal power plant belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, causing significant damage.
