Russian forces attacked a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih with a double-tap drone strike on 21 August. The hits have killed five people and injured 91 others, 21 of whom are in a serious condition, including one child.

Update: The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that as of 16:30, Russia launched a double-tap strike on a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih.

Early reports said that two civilians were killed and 52 people were injured, including six children.

Law enforcement is confirming the number of casualties and documenting damage done by the attack.

Later, the head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration wrote that the number of casualties in the attack had increased to five.

Details: At 18:18, Hanzha reported that the number of people injured in the attack had risen to 91.

He added that 21 of those injured are in a serious condition, including one child.

Details: Initially, Hanzha reported that the Russian strike had damaged the shopping centre, caused a fire at the scene and injured people.

Vilkul said the Russians attacked the city's largest shopping centre with a strike drone. He said many people appeared to have been injured at the scene.

He later reported a second attack on the shopping centre.

Quote from Vilkul: "There's been a repeat attack on the shopping centre by a jet-powered Shahed [drone]. They are flying at extremely low altitudes.

Details: Later, Hanzha reported that the number of people injured in the attack had risen to 50, including six children.

He then said that 52 people are now known to have been injured, and 20 of them are in a serious condition and already in surgery.

An emergency rescue operation is under way. Vilkul warned that the number of casualties could rise again.
