Ukraine's defence forces strike tanks at Russia's Yeysk oil terminal complex

Ukraine's defence forces struck fuel and lubricant storage tanks at the Yeysk oil terminal complex in Russia's Krasnodar Krai on 22 August, causing a fire at the facility.

Details: The extent of the damage caused to the tanks is being confirmed.

More details: The Yeysk oil terminal complex is part of the infrastructure of the seaport of Yeysk in the Gulf of Taganrog, in the Sea of Azov. It handles the receipt, storage and loading of petroleum products onto maritime vessels.

The General Staff said the cargo terminals of the port have a throughput capacity of around 6.8 million tonnes of cargo per year, of which more than 1 million tonnes consists of liquid bulk cargo, including petroleum products.

The General Staff said the facility supports the Russian armed forces.

Background: On the same day, Ukrainian units struck the Novokuibyshevsk refinery and a logistics hub in Russia's Samara Oblast.
