The General Staff also confirmed the strike on the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery on the night of 21-22 August and reported that a fire broke out at the facility. The plant has a capacity of around 8.8 million tonnes of oil per year and produces, among other things, motor and aviation fuel as well as diesel.

Zelenskyy also reported about the use of Ukrainian assets in the waters of the Black Sea, without providing further details.

In addition, the results of previous strikes confirmed the destruction of a Su-24M aircraft and four pieces of airfield equipment at Saky airfield.

In Russia's Bryansk Oblast, Zelenskyy said, signal repeaters used to control drones were destroyed.

Separately, the General Staff reported that, following additional analysis, damage has been confirmed as a result of the strike on 20 August near Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, hitting one Niobium radar station and 18 storage buildings used for housing drones.
