Details: "A new tranche should be expected as early as the beginning of September," a European official said on condition of anonymity.

European Commission spokesperson Balazs Ujvari also said during a press briefing on 25 August that new payments should be expected in the coming weeks.

He recalled that the €90 billion loan provides about €28 billion for Ukraine's defence in 2026 and about €17 billion for budget support.

Quote: "Out of the €28 billion, we have already allocated €22 [billion]. That means that we have approved product schedules amounting to €22 billion, and out of the €22 [billion], we have already disbursed €8.5 [billion]. What you will see in the coming weeks is even more approvals, even more disbursements."

Details: The spokesperson added that the next few weeks "will be looking very busy on the defence front because we know what is at stake".

"We know that there is an incredible amount of urgency, and we are speeding up our operations accordingly," Ujvari concluded.
