Russians strike central Sloviansk: apartment blocks damaged, one killed and five injured – photos

Russian forces struck the centre of Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast on the morning of 26 August, damaging apartment buildings. One person has been killed and five have been injured.

Details: Liakh later reported that as of 09:00, two people are known to have been injured in the Russian airstrike on the city centre.
At least 12 apartment buildings were also damaged.

Liakh noted that one person had been killed and another five injured in the city over the previous day.
Update: The State Emergency Service later reported that one person has been killed and five injured in the Russian airstrikes on Sloviansk.
Thirteen apartment buildings were also damaged in the attack. Firefighters extinguished a fire in two outbuildings and contained a fire at another facility.
The firefighters had to suspend firefighting operations because of the threat of repeat strike.
During another attack, two garages caught fire and five apartment buildings were damaged. Firefighters quickly extinguished the ensuing fire.
Another Russian attack damaged 15 houses. Firefighters extinguished the resulting fire.
