Ukrainian troops deny claims that Russian forces have captured village in Sumy Oblast

Ukraine's Kursk Group of Forces has rejected claims by Russian media outlets that Pysarivka in Sumy Oblast has been captured, stating that the village is under Ukrainian control.

Quote from the Kursk Group of Forces: "A new statement by the Russian occupiers claiming the capture of the settlement of Pysarivka in Sumy Oblast is untrue. The settlement is under the control of Ukraine's defence forces, and fighting continues in this area."

Details: The Kursk Group of Forces added that this is not the first time the Russians have claimed to have "liberated" Pysarivka. On 23 July, they reported having "control over most of the village".

"Taking credit for nonexistent achievements is a long-standing Russian tradition. We advise the enemy to decide: is Pysarivka 'under control' or is it being 'liberated' over and over again? We urge our readers to rely on the official reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rather than Russian media reports. The situation in the area is under control. Units of Ukraine's defence forces are carrying out combat missions," the Group said.

Background: In June, Ukraine's Kursk Group of Forces said that claims circulated by Russian propagandists that the village of Ivolzhanske in Sumy Oblast had been captured were false.
