South Korean marine who lost arm fighting in Ukraine climbs Mounts Hoverla and Petros

Lee Byung-hun, a South Korean national who lost an arm in the war defending Ukraine, has climbed Mount Hoverla, Ukraine's highest peak, and Mount Petros. Byung-hun served in Ukraine's International Legion.

Details: Lee Byung-hun is a former South Korean marine who volunteered to defend Ukraine by joining the International Legion. He lost an arm in a Russian drone strike during the war.

After undergoing treatment, Lee decided to stay in Ukraine and settled in Ivano-Frankivsk in Ukraine's west. He has since joined a Ukrainian amputee football team and helps other veterans.

Lee leads an active life and recently took part in a veterans' hiking trip in the Chornohora mountain range. Despite his amputation, he climbed Mount Petros and Mount Hoverla and completed a hike to Lake Nesamovyte.

Previously: Two amputee veterans from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine – Ivan Tarn of the Artan special unit and Oleksandr Dashko of the Kraken special forces unit – climbed to Mount Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,280 m.
