Russian attack destroys confectionery warehouse in Kyiv Oblast

A warehouse belonging to Ukrainian confectionery manufacturer Roshen was destroyed in the village of Chubynske in the Boryspil district of Kyiv Oblast due to a Russian attack on the morning of 27 August.

Details: Thanks to compliance with safety rules, none of the warehouse employees were injured. The warehouse stored and supplied the company's finished confectionery products.

State Emergency Service units are working at the scene, and efforts to deal with the aftermath and assess the damage are underway.

The attack also caused significant material losses, including the loss of products. As a result, temporary disruptions to the supply of some products may occur in the near future.

The company is already working to redistribute its stocks and secure alternative warehousing facilities in order to minimise possible disruptions and their impact on partners and consumers.

Background:

• This is the second attack on Roshen's warehousing facilities since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. In February, Russian forces destroyed a finished-goods warehouse in Yahotyn.
• On 24 January, Russian forces struck a Roshen confectionery factory in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, killing one woman and injuring two people.
