Russian attack damages KOLO grocery store chain warehouse

A warehouse belonging to the KOLO grocery store chain has been damaged as a result of a Russian attack on 27 August. No employees were injured, but temporary delays in product deliveries may occur at some stores.

Details: The companies are jointly assessing the damage and seeking alternative ways to supply goods. Varus did not specify which product lines may be affected by the delays or how long the logistics recovery will take.

All KOLO stores remain open and operating normally.

Varus completed its acquisition of KOLO on 4 August. Following the merger, the company will manage 374 stores, with the total number of employees across both chains exceeding 9,000.

Background:

• On the same day, a Russian strike destroyed an Avrora distribution centre in Kyiv Oblast. No company employees were injured.
• A warehouse used by the Fora grocery chain was also damaged on 27 August. The company had only begun using the facility a few days before the attack.
