Ukrainian General Staff reports strikes on Kirishi oil refinery and Yeysk airfield in Russia

Ukraine's defence forces struck the Kirishi oil refinery in Russia's Leningrad Oblast and the Yeysk airfield in Krasnodar Krai on the night of 29-30 August.

Details: A fire was reported at the Kirishi oil refinery following the strike.

The Special Operations Forces said they carried out the operation together with the Security Service of Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

The General Staff said the refinery is Russia's second-largest by capacity and the largest in the country's north-west. It has an annual processing capacity of around 20 million tonnes of oil.

The facility produces motor fuel, aviation fuel and diesel and, according to Ukraine's General Staff, supplies Russian troops.

The military airfield in Yeysk was also struck, with a fire reported at the site.

In addition, a facility for storing, preparing and launching attack drones was struck in Millerovo, Rostov Oblast. A fire was also reported there.

The extent of the damage is being assessed.

Background: Russian authorities in Leningrad Oblast previously reported an attack by more than 60 drones and a strike on the Kirishi oil refinery.
