Nova Poshta converts branches into local warehouses due to Russian attacks

Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest private delivery company, has announced it is transitioning to a decentralised fulfilment model.

Details: The company's CEO stated that Nova Poshta's cargo and postal branches across the country will become local warehouses.

Clients' stock will be distributed across different locations, reducing dependence on a single large centre and helping businesses continue operating even in the event of further strikes.

On the night of 27-28 August, Russian forces destroyed a Nova Poshta fulfilment centre and sorting depot in Sviatopetrivske.

"For Nova Poshta, this is not the first strike on our infrastructure. But this time we lost our most modern robotised fulfilment centre – the result of years of work, investment and the best engineering solutions," Tafiichuk said.

Fulfilment is a complete set of logistics operations that a business outsources to a third-party company, from receiving goods to delivery to the buyer.

"We are currently speaking with every publisher and store whose books were destroyed. Together we are determining needs and working through individual support mechanisms that will help partners recover their losses, print new editions and continue operating. We will compensate for the damage inflicted by the enemy," the Nova Poshta CEO added.

Background: On the night of 27-28 August, a Russian drone destroyed a Nova Poshta sorting depot in Kyiv Oblast and damaged a nearby production facility.
