Explosions in Bucha district: number injured rises to 52, including 5 children, 38 people killed
A total of 38 people have been killed and 52 injured, including five children, as a result of explosions in the village of Myla in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast on 28 August.

Fifty-two people were also injured, including five children. Nine people remain in hospital. Doctors assess their condition as moderate".
Details: Approximately 300 structures have been damaged in Myla and surrounding settlements, including more than 200 houses and 14 apartment blocks.
Tkachenko also reported that State Emergency Service units have extinguished all fires that broke out following the strike.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on 30 August that the death toll from the Russian strike and subsequent detonation in the village of Myla in Kyiv Oblast had risen to 38, with a further 20 people injured.
Background:
- Powerful explosions were heard in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast on the evening of 28 August. A warehouse facility caught fire, and all traffic was blocked in both directions on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road between kilometres 15 and 32.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that ammunition cannot be stored near residential buildings. He also said the first strike in Myla village hit a defence forces warehouse that "should not have been there".
- Commenting on the deaths of dozens of people after the Russian strike on Myla, Ukraine's General Staff said Russia is the root cause of the tragedy.
- It subsequently became known that the majority of those killed as a result of the Russian drone strike and ammunition detonation in the village of Myla were residents of a care home for elderly people.
