Russian forces attack energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian forces have been relentlessly attacking energy infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, striking facilities belonging to DTEK Group, Ukraine's largest private energy company, three times in recent days. A total of 30,000 consumers are currently without power.

Details: Over the past two days, energy workers have restored power to 40,000 consumers following the attacks. The company said another 30,000 are temporarily without electricity.

Background:

• On the morning of 31 August, new power outages were recorded in six oblasts of Ukraine as a result of a large-scale Russian strike.
• Russian forces have attacked a DTEK mine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast injuring one worker who was taken to hospital.
• It was previously reported that Russian forces had launched a drone attack on a vehicle carrying DTEK miners, killing two workers who were returning home after their shift.
