Kremlin says Putin agrees to meeting with Trump and Zelenskyy only to "formalise agreements"

The Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has stated that a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is possible only to "formalise agreements".

Quote: "Such a meeting is possible only to formalise agreements. Agreements are not at all a primitive deal. It is a very complex settlement process consisting of a huge number of details.

And for the presidents to meet in order to discuss all of this is absolutely pointless. They can meet only to finalise agreements."

Details: Peskov also accused the Ukrainian side of allegedly not wanting to "engage in a real settlement", by which Russia typically means Ukraine's capitulation and acceptance of all Russian conditions.

Background: As Axios reported, during his secret trip to Moscow CIA Director John Ratcliffe allegedly proposed holding a trilateral meeting between the presidents of the US and Ukraine – Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy – and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
