Zelenskyy after conversations with Trump envoys and Ukrainian military: A lot could change in September

Quote: "We have just spoken with envoys of the US president – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. They are preparing for meetings and corresponding communication with the Russian side, as well as for a visit to Ukraine… We discussed what can be done to encourage Russia to move towards ending the war."
Details: Zelenskyy added, however, that intelligence from both Ukraine and its partners indicates that "the Russian leader personally wants more war", even though "the absolute majority" of the Russian public "would agree to stop the war along the line of contact".
"We will see what the US president's envoys can accomplish. September could change a lot, and together with our partners, we must do everything possible to protect people, protect lives, and achieve peace," the president noted.
Zelenskyy added that he had received a report from the commander-in-chief and the Security Service on Ukrainian long-range strikes in response to Russian attacks.
"We are preparing our steps – new steps," he said.
He reiterated that it is also important that agreements with Kyiv's partners on assistance to Ukraine should be implemented in practice.
"We had a detailed discussion with the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the diplomatic team about activities planned for September. A lot is planned," the president concluded.
Background: Zelenskyy said earlier that he had a "constructive" phone call with Witkoff and Kushner, which included a discussion about their possible visit to Ukraine.
