Agriculture Ministry estimates how much food prices could rise due to Russian attacks

Restructuring logistics following Russian strikes on food warehouses could increase food prices by no more than 2.5%.

Details: Suppliers are switching to storing goods in smaller batches and delivering products directly from producers to shops. In this way, businesses are seeking to avoid losing large quantities of products at once in the event of another strike.

The new system requires more transport and could increase the cost of warehousing services. The Agriculture Ministry estimates that these additional costs should not lead to a sharp rise in prices.

As supply chains are restructured, shops may temporarily reduce the range of certain products they offer. The ministry stressed that this would not indicate a food shortage.

Vysotskyi said Ukraine has sufficient food stocks and capacity for storing vegetables. The harvests of potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beetroot and onions are expected to be sufficient to meet domestic demand.
