Russians likely building base in Crimea to store uncrewed surface vessels – OSINT
Russian forces have begun constructing a base in temporarily occupied Crimea where they are likely planning to store the Russian military's uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). Analysts from the OSINT project CyberBoroshno published a satellite image showing the construction work.

Details: The analysts identified newly built boathouses on the shore of Lake Donuzlav near the settlement of Novoozerne. Such structures are designed for the repair or storage of vessels.
CyberBoroshno analysts said they had not yet observed Russia actively using USVs.
However, they noted that the construction of such infrastructure suggests that Russia is likely at the testing stage and is preparing a base for the future deployment of this type of vessel.
Lake Donuzlav is located on the western coast of the Crimean Peninsula. It is connected to the Black Sea by an artificial navigable channel dug in the 1960s.
Background: Oboronka previously reported that the Russian fleet is expected to receive more than 150 uncrewed surface vessels in 2026, while the state order could increase to 230 units.
