Ukraine's foreign minister calls for increased pressure on Russia following its attack on Security Service of Ukraine's building
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on Ukraine's international partners to increase pressure on Russia following a Russian strike on the central building of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

Details: Sybiha said that the Russian strike on the central building of the Security Service of Ukraine was a serious escalation that required decisive responses.
"Moscow launched this strike during a renewed push for peace — laying bare its true rejection of diplomacy. Located nearby, the UNESCO World Heritage Site — St. Sophia Cathedral — was also placed at risk," the Ukrainian minister said.
He called on Ukraine's international partners to "unequivocally condemn these actions and step up pressure on the Putin regime".
"We also urge UNESCO to react decisively and increase its efforts to protect endangered heritage in Ukraine," he added.
Background:
- On 4 September, a Russian drone struck the office of Oleksandr Poklad, acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine, in the SSU building in Kyiv. The general was not in his office at the time of the strike.
- On 4 September, Kyiv Independent, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that US President Donald Trump's special envoys were allegedly discussing alternative plans for their visit to Kyiv, scheduled for the coming days, amid intimidation from the Russians.
- Meanwhile, Axios reported that the envoys would travel to Moscow and Kyiv this weekend for talks on ending the war.
