Russia attacks with various types of missiles and 166 drones: air defence downs 175 targets, strikes recorded at 29 locations

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with anti-ship, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as 166 attack drones, with the main strikes targeting Kyiv and Odesa oblasts.

Details: The Russians attacked using Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 32 air-launched Kh-101 cruise missiles, 166 Shahed-type attack UAVs (more than half of which were jet-powered) and Parodiya-type decoy drones.

Early reports indicate that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence had downed or jammed 175 aerial assets:

  • 2 Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400/Oniks ballistic and anti-ship missiles
  • 31 Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles
  • 142 Russian Shahed- and Gerbera-type UAVs and other types of drones

Missiles and Russian attack UAVs were recorded striking 29 locations, while debris from downed targets was found at 9 locations.

The aerial attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.

The attack is ongoing, with around 10 Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
