Russian drone hits 24-storey residential building in Kyiv: six injured – photos

A Russian drone has struck a 24-storey residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district on the morning of 9 September. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene. Six people, including a pregnant woman, are known to have been injured.

Details: Klitschko later wrote that a 24-storey residential building had been hit at the level of the 10th and 11th floors.

"A fire has broken out and walls have been damaged on the 11th floor. Emergency services are working at the scene," he said.

Oleksandr Kovtunov, Head of Darnytskyi District Military Administration, has released photos from the site of the strike.

Update: Kyiv City Military Administration later reported that six people have been injured as a result of the Russian strike on the residential building in the Darnytskyi district.

Klitschko later added that three of them have been taken to hospital by paramedics.

The police say a pregnant woman is among those injured.

The State Emergency Service confirmed that firefighters have extinguished the fire, which covered an area of 80 sq m.

"Twenty-three people have been rescued during the operation," the service reported.
