Imperial Brands on aftermath of Russian strike on tobacco factory in Kyiv

The Imperial Brands tobacco factory in Kyiv sustained significant damage as a result of a Russian drone attack on 8 September, with operations halted.

Details: "The attack damaged the company's production facilities and infrastructure. Fortunately, no employees were injured," the statement reads.
Factory operations have been halted, and the company is currently assessing the full extent of the destruction.
Imperial Brands noted that the Kyiv factory is an important production site for the company in Ukraine. The facility produces a number of brands for the Ukrainian market, including Davidoff, West, Jade and Pryma.
The company is working with emergency services and law enforcement, the statement reads.
"We express our sincere gratitude to all personnel working at the scene and involved in dealing with the consequences of the attack," Imperial Brands Ukraine stated.
Background:

- On 7 September, a fire broke out at a tobacco factory in Pryluky in Chernihiv Oblast as a result of a Russian attack; the factory is part of the British American Tobacco international corporation.
- On the night of 4-5 August 2026, Russian forces destroyed warehouses storing products of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) and Imperial Brands Ukraine.
- Philip Morris in Ukraine reported that part of its factory in Kharkiv was damaged in a missile strike on the night of 29-30 January.
- The New York Times previously reported that Russia had intensified strikes on American company facilities in Ukraine in an attempt to undermine its economy. Assets of Cargill, Coca-Cola, Boeing, Mondelez, Philip Morris, Flex and Bunge have come under attack. Since the beginning of 2026, the attacks have only intensified, with Bunge, Philip Morris and Mondelez facilities struck within a four-week period.
