Miner and machinery operator: 2 power engineers killed in Russian strike on Pavlohrad

Two DTEK employees, Vitalii Huba and Yevhen Shevchenko, were killed in a Russian drone strike on a shopping centre in Pavlohrad on 10 September. [DTEK is Ukraine's largest private energy company – ed.]

Details: Four other employees were injured.

DTEK said the attack claimed the life of 39-year-old Vitalii Huba, who worked as a coalface miner at a production section. He is survived by his parents and wife.

Yevhen Shevchenko, 43, who worked as a mining machinery operator, was also killed. He is survived by his parents, wife, son and young daughter.

Four other company employees were injured in the attack. They received the necessary medical assistance and their lives are not in danger.

Background: Five people are known to have been killed and 67 injured in the Russian attack on Pavlohrad. Among those injured was military officer Olena Rij, a nominee for the Ukrainska Pravda 100 award. She suffered burns and is currently in hospital.
