Ukrainian drone triumphs: Navy video shows first-ever sea drone battle

Ukrainian forces have used a naval drone to destroy a Russian unmanned surface vessel in the Black Sea. According to the Ukrainian Navy, this was the first-ever battle between naval drones.

Details: The Russian USV was detected in the Black Sea by units of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The Ukrainian military deployed a Sargan 3000 naval drone equipped with a 12.7mm Protector RWS automatic turret.

Quote from the Navy: "A Ukrainian Sargan has destroyed a Russian unmanned surface vessel. The Ukrainian Navy, in cooperation with Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, conducted a successful operation in the Black Sea and destroyed the Russian unmanned surface vessel. This is the first-ever naval battle between drones."

Ukraine's defence forces have used the Sargan 3000 naval drone in operations in the Black Sea before. In July, Ukrainian sailors used one to sink a Russian 2nd-rank border patrol vessel near Novorossiysk.
