Ukraine's VAT revenues fall US$1.35bn short of target in first eight months of 2026

Domestic and import VAT revenues fell US$1.35 billion short of the target in the first eight months of 2026, with a quarter of that shortfall recorded in August.

Details: Pidlasa said that Russia had spent a record US$123 billion on its war against Ukraine in the first six months of 2026, was producing more missiles and drones than at any other point since the start of the full-scale invasion, and was deliberately targeting sectors that generate revenue for Ukraine's state budget.

She added that expenditure would continue to rise.
