Drone believed to be Russian recovered from water near Polish beach

A drone believed to be of Russian origin has been recovered from the water near a beach in Poland's West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Details: The drone was found the day after Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Russia's escalation has become a fact and that serious attacks on Polish territory cannot be ruled out.

Quote from Kosiniak-Kamysz: "Military personnel have discovered and recovered a drone from the waters of the Baltic Sea near the beach in the village of Rusinowo, close to Jarosławiec. An initial inspection suggests this is a military drone of Russian origin."

More details: Kosiniak-Kamysz said the appropriate services are securing the site and the recovered equipment.

Background:

• On 13 September, a petrol station near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing came under Russian attack, and a locomotive of a train belonging to the state-run railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), stationed 2 km from the border, was also hit. Shortly before the strikes, a train carrying Western politicians crossed the border along the very same route.
• Tusk has said the coming weeks and months will see very intense Russian activity and that more serious attacks on Polish territory cannot be ruled out.
