Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and drones, hits recorded at 36 locations
Russia attacked Ukraine with 157 drones and anti-ship, ballistic and cruise missiles on the night of 16-17 September. Air defence forces have managed to down 131 aerial assets.

- 7 Banderol/Dan-T drone-launched missiles
- 124 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones.
Hits by missiles and attack drones have been recorded at 36 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at five locations."
Details: Russian forces attacked with Oniks anti-ship missiles from Kursk Oblast; Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Bryansk and Voronezh oblasts; four Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea; and 10 Bandrol/Dan-T missiles from the airspace over the Sea of Azov.
In addition, 157 Shahed attack drones (over half of them jet-powered) and Parodiya decoy UAVs were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol and Millerovo as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.
Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa oblasts have been the main targets of the attack..
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
The attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
