Ukraine receives €3.3 billion from EU for missiles and drones

Ukraine received €3.3 billion from the European Union earmarked for the procurement of drones and missiles on Friday 18 September.

Details: As Koretskyi noted, the EU transferred a tranche of €3.3 billion to Ukraine under the Ukraine Support Loan.

Quote: "These funds will go toward our top defense priorities, including the procurement of missiles and drones. Thank you to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission, and all EU member states for the steadfast support of Ukraine and for strengthening our defence forces."

Background: In her annual speech to the European Parliament, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the creation of a European Security Council with Ukraine's participation, as well as promising Patriot missiles and a joint anti-ballistic system based on the Freyja project.
