Ukraine's Skelia Regiment evacuates 21 soldiers from encirclement

Ukrainian fighters from the Skelia unit – the 425th Assault Regiment – have evacuated 21 soldiers from the 159th Brigade who had spent more than 10 months on the front line without rotation.

Quote: "For more than 10 months, servicemen from the 159th Separate Mechanised Brigade had been stationed on the front line without rotation. Eventually, they found themselves surrounded, and leaving the area on their own was practically impossible.

The command of the 425th Skelia Assault Regiment planned and carried out a combat operation to evacuate the servicemen from the 159th Brigade."

Details: The Skelia fighters had to engage in combat and clear a route to rescue their brothers-in-arms, allowing groups of the 159th Brigade to escape the encirclement.

As a result, 21 servicemen were evacuated from the combat zone.

During the assault, the fighters destroyed Russian positions and captured several Russian soldiers.
