Russia attacks Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant for second time in a week

Russian forces struck the Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant on the morning of 26 September.

Details: No one was injured in the attack. The extent of the damage to the plant's premises has not been specified.

Background:

• On 23 September, the Russians struck the Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant in Kyiv. No one was killed.
• On the night of 27-28 June, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv, damaging a site belonging to Darnytsia, one of Ukraine's largest pharmaceutical manufacturers.
• A Russian attack on 3 September damaged the Biocon logistics complex in the Boryspil district in Kyiv Oblast, one of the country's largest specialised pharmaceutical warehouses.
• It was previously reported that demand for some medicines has risen in parts of Ukraine, reducing pharmacies' stocks, which in some cases could only last two to three weeks.
• Edem Adamanov, Head of the Health Ministry's State Expert Centre, said Russian attacks on pharmaceutical warehouses have not caused a shortage of medicines in Ukraine and that pharmacy chains have sufficient supplies for one to two months.
